As a leader, writer, and painter, I have spent my life observing and experiencing the nuanced world of women. To me, liberation is not a destination, but a profound point of realization. It is the moment the soul is freed from the weight of societal expectations and the historical chains that bind us.
“The Unbound” is a state of awakening—the recognition that the light we so often seek externally has been within us all along. Finding that guiding internal light marks the beginning of an ascent toward a happiness that exists far beyond the physical realm.
The Work
This painting captures that pivotal moment of realization. The silhouette is intentionally universal; she represents every woman. Even when surrounded by darkness, she retains the inner glow of her soul, fueled by her own reflection.
The interplay of light and shadows across the surface represents the various phases of her journey—the struggles, the quiet contemplations, and the eventual self-realization.
